The Blanton Museum's current exhibition "Expanding Abstraction: Pushing the Boundaries of Painting in the Americas, 1958–1983" is a refreshing look at twentieth-century painting practices through an international lens. Including works by artists from the United States and Latin America, the exhibition cultivates stimulating conversations and connections that rethink traditional art historical categories. Featured in the show are Gallery artists Agustín Fernández and Marcelo Bonevardi, as well as a rich selection of their North American and Latin peers, including Sam Gilliam, Richard Tuttle, Morris Louis, and Jesús Rafael Soto. "Expanding Abstraction" is on view through January 10, 2021.
